Saturday 11/9
Centennial Toyota Golf Tournament
Serving Our Kids Foundation
6:00am - 10:00am
Stallion Mountain Golf Club, 5500 E. Flamingo Road, Las Vegas, NV 89122
The 8th Annual Centennial Toyota Golf Tournament will be held Saturday, Nov. 9 to help feed hungry kids in Southern Nevada. All proceeds benefit Serving Our Kids Foundation, the nonprofit organization that feeds and serves the weekend nutrition needs of several thousand homeless and at-risk children enrolled in the Clark County School District. There is now a waiting list for the weekend food bags.
Centennial Toyota and Southwest Specialties are major sponsors of the links event, which has become Serving Our Kids’ top fundraiser. A variety of participation opportunities are still available, with Alliant Insurance Services, Fidelity Investments, Gaetano, NV Energy and Pavestone also involved.
The scramble tournament will be held at the Stallion Mountain Golf Club, 5500 E. Flamingo Road. Registration begins at 6 a.m. with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m.
Entry includes 18 holes of golf and lunch and is $125 per player and $475 per foursome (men’s, women’s and mixed teams). There also will be performance prizes, raffle, silent auction and more.
Other ways to participate in the fun and support Serving Our Kids include hole, par 5, par 3, lunch, prize and event sponsorships. They range from $300 to $2,500.
To sign up or for more sponsorship and other information, call Dale Darcas at 702-358-1056 or Greg Hogan at 702-417-4869 or visit https://www.servingourkids.org/blog/8th-annual-centennial-toyota-golf-tournament.
The Centennial Toyota Golf Tournament is now part of Serving Our Kids’ Fall Food Flash fundraising and awareness campaign about child hunger needs in Southern Nevada. The initiative makes it easy and affordable for individuals, families, businesses, organizations and clubs to participate with Serving Our Kids, and also to challenge their peers and competitors to get involved through a variety of new and existing programs.
At the beginning of the current school year, Serving Our Kids was weekly serving more than 70 schools and 3,500 children, who don’t qualify for government services or other backpack programs may be capped at what they can provide. However, the need for weekend meals has risen, with referral calls from schools increasing by 27 percent.
An estimated 4,450 weekly bags are now needed for Saturdays and Sundays – and double bags are needed to cover Thanksgiving when kids are out of school and don’t receive school-based meals. Serving Our Kids estimates the actual number of kids requiring assistance is 8,000 to 10,000.

Aerial Fitness & Vitalant
10:00am
City Athletic Club, 7980 W. Sahara Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89117
Artists unite to raise blood at the 6th annual Aerial Fitness Blood Drive with Vitalant
The family-friendly event will feature world-famous magicians Charlotte Pendragon and Luna Shimada, Las Vegas Comedienne Penny Wiggins, Endless Productions Belly Dancers, Aerial artists, contortionists, singers, and other performing artists. They will all come together to perform in our free variety show “Heros” with performances every hour during Aerial Fitness’ community Blood drive on Sunday, November 24, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with Vitalant of Las Vegas at City Athletic Club. Shows will start every hour from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Kristi Toguchi, the owner of Aerial Fitness, is hoping to raise awareness and support the blood needs in the valley by hosting a Community Blood Drive in Loving Memory of her father, Mr. Terry Toguchi. Toguchi said “After my father passed away, I discovered that he was inducted into the Hawaii Blood Bank Wall of Fame for donating blood 142 times. In my lifetime, I hope to honor him by multiplying this number by at least 10 times. I can’t believe how much support I am receiving from our local artist community as my blood drive slowly grows year after year. This will be our first year with world-class talent so I hope to have a great turnout.”
Charlotte Pendragon said “I’m happy to give back to a community which has given me and so many other entertainers the opportunity to do what I love best! Entertain!”
Penny Wiggins said “We have enough extra fluid in our body to help to save another life and it cost us absolutely nothing. And it is sharing a gift that you have without even asking for it.”
Luna Shimada said “I love performing at the blood drive and do it whenever I can because it’s such an important cause, saving lives and raising awareness and encouraging others to donate blood because it’s one thing we all need.”
All donors will receive 2 tickets to Dimmare’s Martinis & Magic at the Thunderbird Boutique Hotel and also be entered into a raffle with prizes from our sponsors, and Aerial Fitness and friends will provide fun and free entertainment throughout the day. Donors are encouraged to make an appointment to give blood by calling (702)886-2250 or online at www.bloodhero.com and enter Sponsor Code: AERIAL FITNESS. You can also contact Kristi Toguchi at (702)886-2250 or visit Https://bit.ly/2N35ybN for more information.
